Above are just a snippet of the headlines in the South African papers….then we go further up in Africa and we have young kids being taken from their family’s to be taught how to be ‘’children soldiers’’ and kill others…
Cheap booze,an 11 year old and death...
An 11 year old girl is killed by her friends for a bottle of cheap wine…by the way they are drunks,miss days of school,stay away from home at night,and this is told to the reporter by her mother who really does not seem to be that worried. She even admits that her daughter drank heavily
Dear God doesn’t anyone see something wrong with what the mother said ???
Is it just me that see’s the wrong with talking so normally about an 11 year old girl child that is a DRUNK……
What has happened to our society’s values and morals, and since when did it become OK for an 11 year old and her friends to be DRUNKS and then an 11 year old child being killed by her friends for a cheap bottle of wine….??
Being poor is no excuse...
Listen this business of ‘’oh she comes from a really poor family’’ is just not an excuse.
I have seen days of really being 1 cent away from ending up on the street with my 3 kid. There were many months where the pocket was way shorter than the arm and I can remember walking along a railway line near where I lived and picking up Coke bottles etc just so I could get the deposit, and if there were enough bottles it meant I could get a loaf of bread and maybe a pint of milk.
But my kids went to school every day and never ever drank liquor…..they were always clean and tidy and I always knew where they were and what they were doing and most important who they were with.
Finances have never and can never be a reason why kids turn out to be criminals, otherwise a lot of us who grew up in poverty would be serving time in jail.

Then you have the case of 7 and 12 year olds killing an 8 year old in the most violent way because the 8 year old owed the two R5.
They axed him to death.They even tied his feet together with a dog chain…
When they were outside the court house they were laughing and posing for the journalists as though they were basking in their moment of glory, and nothing wrong had happened.
Where do kids of 7 years old and 12 years old learn to tie some ones feet together with a dog chain and then axe him to death and how come they don’t know that what they have done to another human being is wrong..??
